The problem, let's be honest, is that pet crates look a bit unsightly don't they? Who wants an ugly metal pet crate plonked into an interior scheme you've spent months creating? Certainly not us, so we needed a solution!

Based on our modern country style Amberley furniture range, the new Chester crate housings are built in a range of sizes to accommodate your existing crate from Extra Small to Extra Large and in any specification to suit your needs and lifestyle.

You can include drawer options to store accessories, leads, and toys, deeper drawers for bulkier food bags, and storage cupboards for wellies are all available. 

Every piece of furniture offered by The Painted Furniture Company is hand built here in the UK to the customer's requirements and the new Chester Collection is no exception. These superior pieces can be finished in your choice of colour, with wood finishes and handle options available to complement your existing décor.

Sustainable and Future Proof

If or when your dog no longer needs a crate then you can just as easily remove the crate from the housing and install a suitable dog bed instead.

The most brilliant part however is this..... Your Chester crate, like all of our furniture, is built right here in the uk and therefore, if you wanted to be really smart, you could send the crate housing back to us at a later date and we could convert it into a really useful piece, by adding doors, drawers, shelves or any other storage options you fancy. We will repaint it in any colour of your choice and send you back a fully refreshed bespoke piece of furniture which will last many many years.

How Do I Make Sure I Get The Correct Size?

We are aware of course that the sizes of dog crates from different shops and brands will be slightly different, but we had to start somwhere! Our standard sizes (Ex-Small to Ex-Large) are roughly based on the Two Door Dog Crate from Pets at Home. 

If you have a crate from a different brand or supplier thats not a problem, we will bespoke build your crate housing to suit the specific dimensions of your crate. Simply select the Chester crate housing which is the closest size to your crate.

To ensure a flawless fit upon delivery, we kindly ask you to provide a few simple measurements of your dog crate during the order process, and as shown in the sketch above. Specifically, we’ll need: A) Width B) Depth C) Height D) Door Opening to Edge of Crate E) Top of Door to Top of Crate F) Bottom of Door to Bottom of Crate. IMPORTANT

Please check carefully that your chosen crate housing will fit into your house, UK Standard widths for external doors are generally, but not always, 813mm (32 inches), 838mm (33 inches), and 914mm (36 inches) so if you want a Large or EX Large housing it is worth checking and remeber that any internal doors could be narrower.
