Over the years we have learned that when designing painted furniture collections the choice of a handle can change the look, style and message of a collection completely and has probably led to more heated debates than any other aspect!
A Millbrook sideboard in Pearl with Grey Oiled Oak and a Chrome knob is a stunning piece of furniture, strong, contemporary & sophisticated. Take the same sideboard in Rockford with a white oiled top and white oiled Oak bun handles and you would be forgiven for thinking it is a completely different piece, friendly, soft spoken and the personification of English country living.
Well, we may be over thinking it, but that’s why we offer you the choice, no right or wrong answer just another aspect of your furniture which you can personalise.

Traditional Brass
& Cup Handles Aplenty
Brass handles matched with the oiled oak tops create a traditional,
yet understated country-cottage feel.
If you're aiming for a traditional style with your furniture, we'd suggest a neutral colour such as a Wessex
White or Custard
Cream, finished with a natural oak top and brass pull handles for drawers paired with brass knobs for doors. Similarly, combining a cup handle in either antique brass or silver, will create a very sophisticated, timeless feel.
contemporary chrome
If you want to create a very contemporary style consider adding either the Silver Trumpet knobs or the Chrome Knobs; they are simple, minimalist and sure to fit in seamlessly with modern décor.
Chrome paired with white painted furniture is also a good choice for matching contemporary décor. Colour can easily be introduced into the room with textiles and accessories to achieve a completely different look whenever the mood takes you.

If you have chosen a piece from our Millbrook collection you have an elegant design that is equally relaxed and sophisticated. Add in chunky wooden knobs to match the tops and shelves and you can create a picture perfect country cottage look.
Alternatively, choose shiny chrome knobs and the piece will be the perfect balance between modern and traditional.
